What to put on a real estate photography invoice

  • The property address, which is how an agent files everything
  • The package shot: image count, and whether drone or twilight is included
  • Drone work separately, since it carries a licence and its own risk
  • Floor plans or virtual tours as their own deliverables
  • Rush turnaround priced, where the agent asked for it
  • The licence: marketing this listing, and what happens when the property sells

Questions

Should the images be licensed to the agent or the brokerage?

Say which on the invoice. Photographs licensed to an agent personally do not travel with them to a new brokerage, and that becomes an argument at exactly the wrong moment.

Can I charge for rush delivery?

Yes, and it should be a named line rather than an inflated shoot fee. Agents will pay for a next-morning turnaround readily; they resent discovering they paid for it invisibly.
