What to put on a auto detailing invoice

  • The vehicle: year, make, model and size class the package is priced from
  • The package, with what it includes rather than just its name
  • Paint correction by stage — one-step, two-step — since this is most of the labour
  • Any coating applied, by product and its stated durability
  • Add-ons: engine bay, pet hair, ozone treatment, headlight restoration
  • Aftercare instructions and the cure time before the car can be washed

Questions

Why does the invoice need the correction stage?

Because it is the difference between a car that looks clean and one whose paint has actually been levelled, and it is most of what the customer paid for. It also tells the next detailer how much clear coat has already been removed, which matters.

Should a ceramic coating be warranted on the invoice?

State its durability and the aftercare it depends on. Coatings fail when they are washed wrongly in the first week, and an invoice that names the cure time is the only version of that instruction the customer keeps.
