What to put on a cleaning services invoice

  • The service address and the dates cleaned
  • The recurring visits at the agreed rate, counted
  • One-off extras — oven, windows, carpets — as their own lines
  • Supplies, where they are billed rather than included
  • Any key-holding or alarm-response fee agreed separately
  • The contact who authorised extra work, if it was not the account holder

Questions

How do I bill a deep clean on top of a regular contract?

As a separate line, named, with its own price. A deep clean folded into the monthly figure looks like a price increase, and the customer who queries it is usually right to.

Should supplies be itemised?

If the customer is paying for them, yes. Most contracts include consumables in the visit rate, and the invoices that cause trouble are the ones where that changed and the invoice did not say so.
