Glass and Glazing Quote Template
Unit make-up, opening sizes, lead time and the deposit that releases the order. Free PDF, no sign-up.
Glass is made to the size on the order and is worthless at any other size, which is what makes a glazier's quote unusually strict about two things: the measurement it was priced from, and the moment the order stops being cancellable. Everything else — coating, spacer, tempering, lead time — is specified in advance, so the price binds. Write the make-up on the document and the client is buying a specification rather than a pane.

What this quote commits you to
- How long it stands
- 21 days. Insulated units are made to order and the fabricator holds its own quotation to us for exactly that long.
- What it does not cover
- Structural work to the opening, sill repairs, interior trim and painting, and temporary boarding if an opening is left overnight.
- What would change the price
- A field measure that finds the opening out of square by more than a quarter of an inch, which turns a stock unit into a custom fabrication.
- How the client accepts it
- A signed quote plus a 50% deposit releases the glass to the fabricator; the order cannot be cancelled once the units are cut.

What to put on a glass and glazing quote
- The unit make-up: glass thickness, air or argon gap, low-E coating and surface number
- Whether the pane is tempered or laminated, and which code condition requires it
- Every opening size as measured, and whether it was field-measured or taken from a plan
- Frame material and finish, and whether the existing frame is being reused
- Fabrication lead time, because it is what the validity period is really about
- Who removes the old unit, and whether the opening will be boarded overnight
- The point at which the order is released and can no longer be cancelled
Questions
Why does a glazing quote expire in three weeks?
Because the fabricator's own quotation to the glazier expires. Insulated units are made to order against a price the plant holds for a set window, and a glazier promising sixty days is holding a price nobody is holding for them.
When does the deposit become non-refundable?
When the glass is cut. That is worth stating in plain words on the quote, because a client who cancels the day after ordering is astonished to learn their unit already exists and fits no other opening in the world.
Should the quote say who took the measurements?
Always. A price built on architect's plan dimensions and a price built on your own field measure carry very different risk, and an opening a quarter-inch out of square turns a stock unit into a custom fabrication.
About the free quote generator
Is this quote generator really free?
Yes. There is no fee, no trial period and no watermark on the PDF. Nothing on this page requires a credit card.
What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?
A quote is a fixed price you are offering to hold, and it is binding on you once the client accepts it. An estimate is your best projection of the cost and can move if the job does. If the scope is not settled yet, send an estimate instead.
Is a quote legally binding?
Once a client accepts it within the period it stands, a quote generally forms a contract at that price — the details depend on your jurisdiction and on what the document itself says. That is why the price, the scope and the exclusions all belong in writing, and why the document prints the date the offer expires.
How long should a quote be valid until?
Thirty days is the common default, and two weeks is sensible when materials prices are moving. Whatever you choose, state it on the quote: an offer with no expiry is an offer you have made for ever.
Can I raise the price after the client accepts?
Not unilaterally, which is the point of quoting rather than estimating. What you can do is price the variations the client asks for afterwards, provided the quote said what was and was not included.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Fill in the form and download the PDF directly — there is no sign-up and no login for this tool.
Can the client accept the quote online?
Not from a downloaded PDF. Saving the quote to an account gives it a link the client opens and answers on, and the acceptance is recorded against the document rather than living in an email thread.
Can I use this for any currency or country?
Yes. Choose any currency and country for either party — the totals and formatting follow your selection.
