What to put on a snow removal invoice

  • Each event by date, with the snowfall depth that triggered it
  • The rate basis: per push, per event, per inch band, or seasonal
  • Salting or de-icing separately, since it is often applied without plowing
  • Hauling and stacking, where snow had to be removed from the site
  • Sidewalks and entrances if they are priced apart from the lot
  • Service times, which are what an insurer looks for after an incident

Questions

Per push or seasonal contract?

Either, but the invoice should say which and still list the events. A seasonal client who sees the log understands what they bought in a light winter; one who sees only a flat charge concludes they overpaid.

Why record service times?

Because a slip-and-fall claim turns on when the lot was cleared and salted. An invoice carrying dated, timed events is the cheapest documentation a commercial property will ever get from you.
