A yoga teacher invoices two very different customers with one document: a studio that pays per class, and private clients who pay per session. Studios pay on a schedule and want the class dates; private clients pay per booking and want to see their block. Keeping the two apart is what makes a month's teaching legible.

What to put on a yoga instructor invoice

  • Who is being billed — a studio, a company or an individual
  • Class dates and times, since studio pay is reconciled against the timetable
  • The rate basis: per class, per head, or a base plus a head-count bonus
  • Cover classes taught for another teacher, which are often at a different rate
  • Private sessions and blocks, with sessions remaining
  • Workshops and corporate bookings, which are priced apart from regular classes

Questions

How should a per-head studio rate be invoiced?

With the head count per class, not just the total. Studios reconcile teacher pay against their own attendance figures, and an invoice that shows the counts is one their manager can approve without opening the booking system.

Should I bill a cover class differently?

Only if your agreement says so — but always mark it as cover. It is the line a studio checks, because it was not on the timetable they budgeted from.
